Mosaic Mirrors by Paula Crill and Whimsical Paintings by Jan McMurtry-Arnold at Orchard Gallery
February 2-27, 2010
Artists' reception: February 6: 1-5pm

Mirror, Mirror On The Wall...Is That Really Me At All?"...In celebration of a life changing journey, Paula Crill is using her love of glass and clay to beautify mirrors.

Jan McMurtry-Arnold says, "My paintings are inspired by nature, mystery, beauty and a fanciful way of looking at life. I paint from within but I am inspired by the outside. I love detail and usually use very small brushes but it is not always the norm. I love color and shape and the spiral is one of my favorite. I love the process and the magic of applying paint to any surface."

Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat: 10-5.

Promise Ministries Art Show & Silent Auction on February 13
Promise Ministries will be hosting an area art show/silent auction on
February 13th from 6-9pm. The art show is a community event and all
are welcome and encouraged to attend. We are calling for area artists
to donate a piece or pieces to be silently auctioned off. All the
proceeds are going directly to the needy of Fort Wayne. (The youth
have a work trip in June where they will be working on an inner city home that needs help and manual labor. There is also a group of people who pass out supplies to the homeless. I want to make it clear though that all the money
brought in will go directly to the needy and not the youth.) Snacks,
refreshments, and music will be provided. I think this is a great way
to help bring the community closer together.

Fort Wayne ArtSource is Closed
As of December 31, 2009 the Fort Wayne ArtSource, Inc. is no longer in business. The not profit organization was not able to meet its financial obligations because of the bad economy and the loss of several members.
This was a hard decision for the board members to make, however, we know that a tremendous impact on the community was made over the past 18 years that the ArtSource existed.
As of December 31st, the ArtSource had seven artists left. These artists will still be able to display their work without a membership fee. All sales will go through the Peony Tea House which now owns the gallery. Sue Shull and Karen Starn, owners of the Peony, will be accepting artists that are interested in displaying. For more information on art displays, please call the Peony at 426-4832.
If you have Art related news, Karen will accept this information through her e-mail address: ThreeOaksStudio AT aol.com. The ArtSource e-mail will be shut down by the end of January.
Thank you for all the helpful information you have sent to the ArtSource over the past years.
