Artlink would like to fill its walls with postcard art from around the world. So, Artlink is asking artists to submit entries for display in a unique exhibition and fundraiser, the Postcard Art Show. The sale of these artistic postcards will be held in Artlink Art Gallery, Auer Center for Arts and Culture, 300 E. Main Street on Thursday evening, March 1, from 6 to 9 p.m. The sale is open to the public. All proceeds will benefit Artlink’s annual exhibition expenses.

There is no jury, no entry fee and no return of artwork. Artlink will retain 100% of the proceeds from postcard sales, but the artist will get something, too. All artists submitting a postcard will have their names posted on the Artlink website (www.artlinkfw.com).

The theme of the Post Card Art Show is Secrets, so artists are encouraged to let their creativity run wild, and if it’s a really good secret you may submit your art anonymously. Submitted postcards must be an original drawing, painting, photograph, collage or mixed media, and must be standard postcard size (4 inches x 6 inches). The artwork on the postcard can be either horizontal or vertical, but only one side of the postcard will be displayed, so please design accordingly. Postcards must be received by February 29, 2012 to be included in the show. Artwork can be mailed to Artlink in an envelope or as an actual postcard (with stamp and cancellation mark).

On the back of the postcard, please include: artist’s name, full mailing address, title of artwork, medium, email address and website if available. Postcard Art Show and Sale

Original handmade postcards from across the United States will be for sale at Artlink, 300 E Main St, Fort Wayne, on Thursday, March 1, 2012. The little pieces of art, created by artists from coast to coast, will be sold for $5 each as a fundraiser to support Artlink’s exhibition schedule. The Postcard Art Sale begins at 6 p.m. and runs until 8 p.m. A few choice post cards will be available in a Silent Auction from 6 to 7 p.m. The sale will continue during regular gallery hours until March 4 or until all of the little art has been sold. Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit Artlink’s annual exhibition expenses. The Postcard Art goes home with the purchaser as soon as it is paid for.
