Two shows open at Orchard Gallery in January

Pottery by Richard Tuck & Fragments from the Forest by Martha Trenkner
January 3-30, 2012
Orchard Gallery

Pottery by Richard Tuck

"My recent work has been in the form of face plates and intricate surface designs on various bottle and vase forms. The face plates express the duality of human nature: everyone has a dark side and a light side. The surface designs on the thrown forms are influenced by imagery from travels in the American West, where Native Americans use symbols to express spirituality and the relationship of human beings to the earth and our place in the universe. The symbols I use are adapted from Oriental, Meso-American, Native American, and other world cultures."

Fragments from the Forest...Nature Photography by Martha Trenkner
Fragments from the Forest is an eclectic collection of photographs taken during Martha's walks through the woods.
