Artlink Bus Trip to the Indianapolis Museum of Art

Contemporary art enthusiasts are invited to join Artlink on a daylong bus trip to the Indianapolis Museum of Art on Tuesday, October 12. The highlight of the trip will be the many facets of artwork created by Andy Warhol and presented by Andy Warhol Enterprises. In addition, participants can enjoy a walk to the new Art and Nature Park, not far from the Lilly house on museum grounds. Eight sculptures are sited around the park and lake. An added treat for the trip home is a stop at Trader Joe’s to see what’s new. Coolers will be on board for travelers’ purchases. Cost is $40 for Artlink members, non-members $45. www.artlinkfw.com. Price includes museum entry, transportation, driver tip and morning and evening snacks. Bus will depart from Meijers, Lima Road at 8:30 a.m. and return Fort Wayne, 7:00 p.m. Early registration is advised.
Warhol works range from his shop window designs and commercial illustrations of the 1950s to his groundbreaking paintings of consumer products and stars of the 1960s, and ultimately to his ventures into TV, film and magazines of the 70s and 80s.
Artlink’s Fall bus trip is the second of two annual trips to prominent Midwestern art museums sponsored by the not-for-profit contemporary gallery. Founded in 1978, Artlink’s mission is to showcase artwork of the highest quality by emerging and mid-career artists and to provide educational programs for the community. Artlink is a funded member of Arts United of Greater Fort Wayne.
