Artists to paint for Artlink

Put this date on your calendar: Sunday, September 26, because rain or shine, more than 20 top local artists will be painting in Artlink’s Wet Paint Auction. The fundraising event takes place every other year at Lakeside Park, Fort Wayne, Pavilion #2, from 9 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Some of the artists painting will be: Jay Bastian, Norm and Dixie Bradley, Diana Fair, Betty Fishman, Suzanne Galazka, Gwen Gutwein, Malinda Henning, Jerry Hertenstein, Don Osos, Lisa Ransom-Smith, Terry Ratliff, Sue Sells and Pam Turnbow. Artists who can’t make it to the park but will donate a piece include Beth Wheeler of the “Two Sipsters” and painter, Pat Weiss.

The Wet Paint Auction is an educational event and fun for the whole family. The artists will have their easels set up all over the park and the public is invited to watch them create. Silent bids may be made all day at Pavilion #2, but most of the bidding will take place after the painters bring their wet artwork to the pavilion at 1:00 p.m. Bidding ends at 1:30 p.m., and winners can then take their wet masterpieces home. All proceeds from the Wet Paint Auction support Artlink’s programming. Artlink is one of the few not-for-profit contemporary art galleries in the state not associated with a university or artist’s co-op.
