Regional Glass Artists Shine at Artlink
The public is invited to attend the opening reception for Artlink’s Glass exhibition on Friday, March 6 from 7 to 9:00 p.m. Fourteen exciting regional glass artists will each exhibit several of their latest pieces. Glass artist Frank Oddou of Columbia City will give a gallery talk at 8:00 p.m. This exhibit was curated by Danielle Payne, glass artist and owner of GlassLink of Fort Wayne. The exhibition will be up through April 8.
On display will be glass work from Fort Wayne artists Paula Crill, Jon Frincke, Pat Hansen, Bill Lupkin, Danielle Payne, Robin Mohr of Robin’s Nest Stain Glass, Todd Taylor and Kathy Watson. Regional artists included in the show are James Kahle of Dayton, Ohio, Kathleen Kitch of Lafayette, Frank Oddou of Columbia City, Ashton Prespentt of Auburn and Steve Sizelove of Richmond. A local collector has loaned Artlink eight examples of artwork by world-famous Swedish glass designers Bertil Vallien and Kjell Engman.
Techniques on display will be fused glass, slumped glass, warm glass, hot glass, stained glass, glass painting, fused jewelry with metal work, mosaic, sandblasting and lampworking. A glossary of glass terminology will be available to visitors.

On the walls of Artlink’s Hallway Gallery will be the Photographs of Andrea Dailey. Artlink members may view both exhibits for free; a $2 donation is suggested for non-members. The Hallway Gallery exhibit may be viewed before and after Cinema Center performances at no charge.

Good luck with this event. I think all visitors will be in for a treat. I have seen a display of Bertil Vallien's work and it was truly amasing. I now have 2 Vallien pieces of my own to enjoy.
