Bust a Move: Silent Auction and Charity Gala
Fort Wayne Museum of Art
Thursday, October 2 at 6 PM
Live auction and charity gala with cocktails, food, readings, and live music.
The charity-driven Fort Wayne Derby Girls teamed up with Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, The Steffen Group, Don Hall's Restaurants, and the Fort Wayne Museum of Art to raise funds for services and supplies for women with breast cancer in Fort Wayne.
On October 2, 2008, the organizations will host an art exhibit and silent auction in conjunction with local artists, breast cancer survivors, and businesses. Aptly named “Bust a Move,” the event hopes to raise over $10,000. Some of the artists participating: Terry Ratliff, Cara Lee Wade, Matt Kelly, Jeffrey Crane, Jeff Stump, Nick Fabini, Donny Manco, Patricia Edwards Jerry Seabolt, Santa Brink, Lynn Rowe Reed and more! Get a sneak peak at http://www.fwderbygirls.com/BustAMove/sneakpeak.html.
The Why:
For “Bust a Move”, local artists and women have volunteered their talents and their bodies to create unique, inspiring cast representations of the female bust and the emotions associated with breast cancer. Each cast will be painted and auctioned off for charity.

I’m inspired by shapes found in nature, like the swirl of ocean waves or the interlacing of tree branches against the sky. And I like to accent my jewelry with semi-precious stones such as amazonite, aquamarine, lapis lazuli, and freshwater pearl."
