Call for Entries for Artlink’s Self Portrait Exhibition

Artlink invites all visual artists, at least 18 years of age, residing within driving distance of Fort Wayne to exhibit one piece of their original artwork in the upcoming Self Portrait Exhibition. The opening reception will be held on November 30, 2007. Because of the large number of entries anticipated, the exhibition will be held simultaneously in Artlink’s Main Gallery as well as in the new Downtown Library Art Gallery. The exhibition will be up through January 10, 2008.
Each artist may submit one self portrait in any medium for this non-juried exhibition. There is no size restriction; however, the piece cannot weigh more than 50 lbs. including frame or base (for 3-D submission). All wall work must be wired for hanging (no saw-tooth hangers!). All artwork must be hand-delivered to Artlink between November 3 and November 11 during regular gallery hours. No late entries will be accepted. There is no entry fee. All artwork must have an identification label on the back with artist’s name and selling price. If the work is not for sale, please include a value for insurance purposes. If the work sells, Artlink will take 35% of the sale price as commission.
To participate, artists must notify the gallery by October 26, 2007. Notification may be given to Artlink via e-mail at deb@artlinkfw.com; or send a postcard to Artlink, Self Portrait, 437 E. Berry St., Fort Wayne, IN 46802. Be sure to include your complete name, address, and a contact phone number or e-mail address.

Charlie Cummings Clay Studio Features Online Exhibition of Lisa Hammond's Work
Charlie Cummings Clay Studio & Gallery is very pleased to present the first
United States offering of work by this exciting British ceramic artist. Lisa's exceptional soda and shino work have gained international acclaim, including shows throughout the UK and in Japan. Lisa Hammond is most well known for her body of soda glazed studio pottery, both functional and decorative. She is also recognized for her innovative use of shino glazes, based on her work with the distinguished Japanese wood-fire potter Rizü Takahashi. Simplicity is the hallmark of Lisa's work. The rich colors and textures of her soda and shino glazes enhance the classic elegance of her traditional forms. Lisa is the cover artist for the August/September issue of Ceramics Monthly.

The 2-D art show at Zia’s Coffee, Sweets, and More will be hung on September
21, 2007 and hang until November 2, 2007. The title of the show is “Kaleidoscope of Nature”.
Art will be accepted starting Monday September 16, 2007. All work must be
submitted by 5pm on Friday September 21, 2007. Hours are Monday-Saturday
from 7am-7pm. We do reserve the right to refuse any work due to quality and
subject. All art needs to be wired and ready to hang. The cost of the show is
$5 per entry. Zia’s does take a commission of 30%. Checks will be mailed at
the end of the show. Pick-up of your art work will be on Friday November 2, 2007 from 7am-7pm.

Artlink is sending out a call for entries for Poppin’ Pills, an all-media art show opening on January 18, 2008. All artists, at least 18 years of age and residing in the United States are invited to submit original artwork depicting the theme. Humor is acceptable as well as serious commentary.
Artists must submit an entry form along with $10 entry fee for three images which can be on slides or JPEG or TIFF files (1500 x 2100 dpi). Artwork must be no larger than 48 inches in any direction including frame, and weigh no more than 50 lbs. Artlink’s Artist Panel will judge the images and notification will go out to artists on November 23. Accepted work must be delivered by January 4, 2008. All wall work must be framed and wired for hanging. Glazed work must be framed with Plexiglass. Artists shipping work must include payment or pre-paid return shipment labels. Work must be sent in a reusable box. All artwork is insured while on exhibit. A 35% commission will be charged on works sold.
