Lecture by Renowned Indiana Sculptor Tuck Langland
Cool off with some HOT art!
Wednesday, July 18
2PM
Free Lecture and Demonstration!
Indiana’s own nationally-renowned bronze sculptor Tuck Langland will discuss his artwork, current projects in public art nationwide, and even provide a demonstration of lost-wax technique—used by sculptors for millennia!
Sculptor Tuck Langland is dedicated to art and the teaching of art. A retired Professor of Sculpture from the South Bend campus of Indiana University (where he taught from 1971 to 2003), Tuck designed and built the school’s sculpture studio from scratch, including the foundry. During this time, his interest in creating and casting bronze sculpture never wavered.
In addition to his teaching, the American art world also knows him well as a sculptor whose works are in collections, museums, and public plazas across the U.S. and Europe, and as an award-winning master of portraiture and the human figure.
The author of two acclaimed books on sculpture, Langland is currently at work on his third book, which will focus on techniques of portrait sculpture.

About 14 Portraits of the 7 Deadly Sins
For the past five years, Hartman has had a vision to combine film and art with floating images on walls and tabletops. With the advent of flat screen televisions, John's vision has become reality. Through 14 Portraits Hartman is creating a series of fourteen video portraits that combine this country's evangelical beliefs with it's original sin. His ultimate goal however, is to showcase through the marvels of modern technology, that moving images are a viable art – not just in a gallery or museum, but also in the comfort of your home.
About John Hartman
John Hartman is a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He wrote and directed the short film, d.r.o.n.e, a New York International Independent Film & Video Festival official selection and served as director of photography and editor on the short films, Prelude To a Bad Tattoo and Valentine. Prelude was acquired by the Fort Wayne Museum of Art for its permanent collection. Hartman is the Chief Commercial Photographer and Editor for Indiana's NewsCenter.
If you would like more information about 14 Portraits or would like to be an extra please contact John Hartman via email at spacemonkeyproductions@gmail.com. For more information about the show or to learn about the Kachmann Gallery, visit www.kachmanngallery.com.

Plein Air Event & "Wet Paint" Art Auction 2007
We invite you to submit an application to participate in this First Annual Auburn Art Auction, an outdoor art event in Northeast Indiana! Painting on the Square is open to any artist who creates using the plein air technique, in any medium.
Auburn, Indiana will host the art of J. Seward Johnson from June to September 2007. We invite artists to come, create, and enjoy. The sculptures celebrate the familiar of everyday life. We hope you will enjoy our town, capture everyday events, and share the joy art brings to people of every age and walk of life.
This event is being held in celebration of the arts--we're inviting the public to watch you create your masterpieces in this Plein Air Event! The evening's "wet paint auction" will be a fundraiser, with all proceeds going towards the purchase a J.Seward Johnson bronze sculpture. Artists will receive 15% of the final auction price of his or her art.
Artists selected must agree to paint on location within two mile radius of the DeKalb County Courthouse on August 11, 2007. All art must be created in the field. Artists who cannot participate but would like to donate a piece of work for auction or if you have any concerns about completing a work that would be auction ready in one day, please contact event coordinator Kendra Klink.
Call or email for complete registration form. Please contact Kendra Klink with any questions via kendraklink@gmail.com or at 260-413-9971 .
