IAC Seeks Artists With Needs, Ideas, & Dreams

The Indiana Arts Commission, Arts United of Greater Fort Wayne and the Fort Wayne Museum of Art Announce Grant Workshop for Artists.

Working on an Exciting project and wondering how to fund it?

Plan on attending the FREE workshop for artists to learn the ins and outs of writing grants, presented by The Indiana Arts Commission, Arts United of Greater Fort Wayne, and the FWMoA.

IAC's Individual Artist Project (IAP) grant program supports individual artists, in all disciplines, for specific project-related costs. Applicants plan a complete project (or phase of one) with specified budget and timeframe, meet their established goals, and report back on what they did.

So what can you apply to do? Here's how other artists have used their award:

•Purchased supplies, rental/purchase of equipment, time necessary for the development, completion, or presentation of a work, installation, or publication.
•Applied existing technology in a new way
•Used funds to document artwork, for portfolios, marketing, or other promotional activities.
•Helped fund travel for research, documentation, or to complete work
•Taken advanced workshops to further their career development -- or taught others.

Eligible projects are left flexible to respond to artists' ideas, dreams and needs, but the goal of this program is to aid artists' career development.

THE FINE PRINT:
Funds may not be used for costs related to academic research or formal study toward an academic or professional degree. Artists must be at least 18 years of age and may submit one application per year.

NOTE: The IAC listened to Indiana's artists and has DOUBLED the maximum award amount from $l,000 to $2,000 starting this year!
