February 3rd "A Night for Artists" at the Museum

The Fort Wayne Museum of Art is excited to invite you to the museum for a special Artist Forum, February 3, 2006 from 6-8:30 PM. "A Night for Artists" will bring together community leaders, businesspeople, and artists for a discussion of public art and its role in building Fort Wayne.

Guest speaker Patricia Cole will discuss Bloomington's Percent of Art program from 6-7 PM. A Percent for Art program in Fort Wayne would establish public sites that provide an important venue for all residents and visitors to appreciate artwork outside the traditional museum or gallery setting. Currently, there are 26 state (and over 90 municipal) public art programs around the country that commission work to enliven our shared public spaces, and provide opportunities for artists.
